Originally from South Korea, Jun Young Park was raised largely inspired by his father, who built an accomplished career in the consumer packaged goods industry. Through his invaluable experience and knowledge, Mr. Park became determined to follow in his father’s footsteps from a young age and make a name for himself in the same industry.
Upon graduating from high school, Mr. Park served as a sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army from 2008 to 2010, during which time he honed his ability to navigate through challenges with boldness and resilience. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and then launched his career in the United States as a product manager at LG Electronics. In the midst of his professional journey, he continued his education at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he attained a Master of Business Administration in 2020. That same year, he began working at Colgate-Palmolive Company as an assistant brand manager and has since advanced to the role of associate brand manager of oral care. In this capacity, Mr. Park manages children’s toothpaste in North America and licensing; meets with research and development, operations, logistics, and supply chain and design teams to prepare new launches for the future and manage priorities for all projects.
Over the course of his time at Colgate, Mr. Park has been most proud of his management of therapeutic toothpaste—in 2023, he launched a new brand in Canada called Colgate PerioGard, which was highly successful and led to the opportunity to expand the company’s children business. Outside of his primary endeavors, he has remained extremely active at his alma mater, serving as president of marketing, advancement, and alumni engagement, as well as a volunteer for Emory Cares, at Emory University since 2021. Additionally, at Emory, he was previously the chief financial officer of its Korean International Students in Emory program.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Park wants to continue building on his passion for marketing and leading brands within his industry. He envisions himself as a go-to expert in all areas of marketing, be it consumer packaged goods or technology. Through his extensive knowledge and experience, he hopes to make a significant impact on the marketing world and eventually become a recognized leader in the field. Mr. Parks speaks fluent Korean, English, and Japanese.
